Chelsea Young Star Levi Colwill’s Down-to-Earth Style: Billions Per Week Salary

Levi Colwill has become a mainstay in Chelsea’s first team this season. Behind his success on the pitch, Colwill has a habit that may seem unusual for a top footballer: despite earning £100,000 a week, he chooses to live with his family in Southampton and travel four hours to the Cobham training ground every day.

For Levi Colwill, this decision is not just about financial comfort, but about maintaining relationships with his family and his circle outside of football.

“I’m surrounded by all the people I grew up with,” Colwill said, noting how important it is for him to stay connected with his parents, siblings and friends.

For him, returning home brings a sense of calm and balance that is hard to come by in the world of professional football.

The 21-year-old defender feels that being with his family has had a positive impact on his performance on the pitch.

“Being in the bubble at the club was great, but coming home brings a calmer, more normal life,” he explained.

His family’s day-to-day work routines provide a different perspective, which helps Levi Colwill remain humble and grateful.

Being Close to Family is a Source of Strength

Although the long daily journey to Cobham can be a challenge, Colwill does not let it faze him. Instead, his closeness to his family has been a source of strength.

“Everyone thinks the journey is worse than it is, but when I get back and see my dog, and my mum, dad and little brother, it means everything to me,” he said.

Colwill’s career has continued to rise, especially after impressing during loan spells with Huddersfield Town and Brighton.

He signed a long-term contract with Chelsea last year, reaffirming his commitment to the club. He has since become an unstoppable player for Chelsea, playing every Premier League game this season.

Colwill has also shone for England. He made his debut at left-back in Lee Carsley’s first game as England manager, appearing against the Republic of Ireland (7/9/2024), followed by coming on as a substitute against Finland (11/9/2024).

His name has also been included in the Three Lions squad for the matches against Greece and Finland in the UEFA Nations League, 11 and 13 October 2024.
